A student record can appear two or more times on the student management page, even when the record has the same name and class details. This happens when one of the records for the student has been created without a National Student Number (NSN) or a Student Management System identifier, or when these don’t match. Deleting these “extra” student records is not recommended as they could contain links to important assessment data.
Duplicate records for the same student can be created when:
- a new student record is created and allocated to an assessment group, rather than an existing student record
- a student answer sheet is scanned and uploaded by NZCER without a SMS file provided by the school.
