Dear Literacy Leader,

 

Thank you for registering for ALL Writing e-asTTle and OTJ data collection. In this email we will:

- Explain what data we will be collecting as part of the project

- Provide information about how to create your e-asTTle assessments and submit your tabular report

- Provide details of key dates for data collection

 

Data Collection

We will be collecting:

- OTJs for students for the end of 2015 and end of 2016

- E-asTTle Group Tabular Reports before and after your ALL Writing intervention.

 

Numbers of students 

If it is your school’s first year of participation in the ALL intervention you will submit data for each student involved (6-8 students).

If it is your school’s second year of participation in the ALL intervention you will submit the data from 2-5 teachers (select 3 students at random from each teacher’s ALL group).

If it is your school’s third year of participation in the ALL intervention you will submit the data from 6 or more teachers (select 3 students at random from each teacher’s ALL group).

Please note:

Include the NSN numbers of all students involved.

 

Student demographic data entry and OTJ

Please enter your student demographic and OTJ data onto the spreadsheet attached to this email, and submit this to NZCER (using the web link below) along with your e-asTTle tabular report at the following time points:

 Before the intervention (by 08/07/2016)

 - end of 2015 OTJ  and before intervention e-asTTle group tabular report

             After the intervention (by 15/11/2016)

 - end of - end of 2016 OTJ and after intervention e-asTTle group tabular report

 

Creating e-asTTle tabular reports

We have worked closely with Evaluation Associates to provide support materials for the use of e-asTTle writing. Linked to this document are information sheets should you need them.

As the literacy leader it is your responsibility to ensure your school has submitted the correct data by set dates. You will be supported by your SIT and mentors in this process.

For schools in their SECOND YEAR of participation only

In order to measure the effectiveness of the ALL project NZCER will be collecting longitudinal data for students who took part in the project in 2015.  We will contact you later in the year with further information.  We will be collecting OTJ and assessment data for relevant students at the end of 2016.
