We have added PDF functionality to most of the reports to eliminate this issue, however, if you are experiencing this problem these tips should help.


If colour is missing from the reports after printing, you need to change your browser settings to enable background colour printing. These notes apply to the following browsers:

For Internet Explorer (Version 6 & 7, and 9)
For Firefox (PC)
For Firefox (MAC)


 

For Internet Explorer (Version 6 & 7):
The print settings on your Internet browser must be adjusted to maximize the print quality of the reports.

  1. Go to the tools menu in the browser and choose Internet Options. Select the Advanced tab. Scroll down to Printing ensuring the box that reads “Print background colors and images” is ticked.
  2. Go to the File menu in the browser and choose Page setup. Delete the header and footer fields and set each of the margins to 5mm. Make sure that the paper setting is A4, and the orientation is Portrait for the PAT Item Report, List Report and STAR Individual Report, and Landscape for the PAT Individual Report and STAR List, Stanine and Sub-test Reports. You can check how it looks with Print Preview in the File menu before printing.
  3. Each time you print a report check the print settings under the file menu.

For Internet Explorer (Version 9):
The print settings on your Internet browser must be adjusted to maximize the print quality of the reports.

  1. Go to the tools menu in the browser and choose Page Setup option. Make sure that the box that reads: Print Background Colors and Images is ticked.
  2. Also using the Page Setup option delete the header and footer fields and set each of the margins to 5mm. Make sure that the paper setting is A4, and the orientation is Portrait for the PAT Item Report, List Report and STAR Individual Report, and Landscape for the PAT Individual Report and STAR List, Stanine and Sub-test Reports. You can check how it looks with Print Preview in the File menu before printing.
  3. Each time you print a report you should check the print settings under the file menu.

For Firefox (PC):

  1. Go to the tools menu in the browser and choose Page setup. Ensure that the box that reads “Print background” (colors and images) is ticked.
  2. Ensure that the paper setting is A4, and the orientation is Portrait for the PAT Item Report, List Report and STAR Individual Report, and Landscape for the PAT Individual Report and STAR List, Stanine and Sub-test Reports. You can check how it appears with Print Preview in the File menu before printing.
  3. Go to the File menu in the browser and choose Page setup then ensure the header and footer fields are set to ‘–blank–’.
  4. Each time you print a report check the print settings under the file menu.

For Firefox (MAC):
The print settings on your Internet browser must be adjusted to maximize the print quality of the reports.

  1. Go to the tools menu in the browser and choose Print. Next to the ‘Printer:’ option, ensure the small triangle is clicked to enlarge the printing options window. Check that the label reads “Appearance: has both the Print background Colours and Print background Images” check boxes ticked.
  2. Go to the File menu in the browser and choose Page setup. Check that the paper size is A4, and the orientation is Portrait for the PAT Item Report, List Report and STAR Individual Report, and Landscape for the PAT Individual Report and STAR List, Stanine and Sub-test Reports. It looks with Print Preview in the File menu before printing.
  3. Each time you print a report check the print settings under the file menu.
